The Gated Community is a Minnesota-based Americana band. Formed in 2006 in Minneapolis's storied West Bank neighborhood by South Asian American singer-songwriter and Midwest CMO member Sumanth Gopinath, the band is known for its gripping original songs, beautiful vocal harmonies, and multiple lead singers. Encompassing country, folk, bluegrass, and rock influences, TGC's genre-bending style draws comparisons to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Gillian Welch, and the Band, among others.
